ShakeyHead: Your ShakeyHead Fix

Given the dearth of new shakeyheads lately (That's DEARTH, not DEATH) due to the extended layoff, I'll post one of your faithful blog author looking absolutely ridiculous. The one above is from Nettie and Matt's wedding, as you may have guessed. I can only assume that they've taken this photo, had it blown up to poster-size, and framed it in their living room.

...And who can blame you. They're hilarious, even if only to your friends... or at the moment they're taken. It's easy. Get your friend ready with their digital camera, have them take aim, then say go. You begin shaking your head violently back and forth, letting your face muscles relax so the skin gets a really good rattling around. It helps to make a sound while shaking your head, not unlike what a cartoon character sounds like while doing same. Don't start laughing yet or you'll ruin the picture. As soon as you start shaking your head, your friend should snap the picture. Given the delay most digital cameras have after pressing the button, it may take you a few tries to get it right... But you'll know when you do, because the first reaction by the person viewing the photo will be hysterical laughter.

TIPS FOR BETTER ShakeyHead PICTURES

*Use a flash, or take the picture in bright light, or it'll only come out blurry.
*Keep your eyes open; the wider the better. Try to actually look at the camera while vibrating wildly.
*Relax your face muscles! If you're laughing, it won't work, seriously.
*Try putting your whole body into the shake. Shake everything.
*Make noise while shaking. Think Bugs Bunny.
